Develop a rich understanding of international trade practices and policy issues

Background: The world has never been more interconnected. Globalization and our own self-interest require us to interact with the world. I am interested in understanding how to interact with and influence it, through both trade and policy.

In graduate school, I took a number of courses related to this subject. In my Management of Technology certificate program, I emphasized international trade, focusing on China. In addition, I sat in on three MBA global strategy courses, as well as economics and public policy courses on the macroeconomics of international trade. On the political side, I studied leadership, including that of foreign leaders, and prior to Berkeley, I took multiple US foreign policy courses.

Talks by notables in international relations, news from abroad, analysis of our foreign affairs, and personal experience from travel round out my knowledge. (Special plug: Saudi Aramco World)

Status: I will be working on international economic and science & technology policy starting in the fall of 2010.
